What is a bead roller?
A two-part tool that shapes uniform beads. Clay sits in a channel between two plates, and rubbing the plates back and forth turns the clay around its centre line, like a lathe, so it comes out as a smooth, rounded bead.
What kind of image works as a bead?
A bold, solid, symmetric silhouette that looks turned on a lathe: round beads, teardrops, eggs, barrels, mushrooms, snowmen. A flat picture like a heart or star just spins to a blob. Claymaker tells you if a shape will not work before you print.
How consistent are the beads?
Very. The roller shapes every bead to the same profile, so you get repeatable beads for matched pairs and sets. You choose the finished bead size in millimetres.
How do I print and assemble the roller?
Print both plates flat, channel-side up, no supports. One plate carries the pegs and the other the sockets. Flip the socket plate left to right (not end over end) so the channels line up and the pegs drop in.

Yes. The roller you print and the beads you make with it are yours to sell, with no per-item fees or royalties.
